Speechify’s own FAQ says Studio “is different from Speechify Text to Speech Reader and they’re two different subscriptions.” This page compares ElevenLabs with Studio, the product built for creating voiceovers. How much do ElevenLabs and Speechify cost?
ElevenLabs Starter is $6 a month, or $72 over twelve months of monthly billing, and Speechify Studio Starter is $100 a year. Both vendors’ free plans stop short of commercial use, which begins on each vendor’s first paid plan.

On October 14, 2026, ElevenLabs’ pricing page showed a first-month offer on Starter ($1, until Oct 18) and Creator (50% off, $11). ElevenLabs also has a yearly billing toggle; this page uses the monthly list prices. Speechify’s Studio prices are on speechify.com/pricing-studio. Prices exclude tax.
Can you use ElevenLabs or Speechify free for commercial work?
No: neither vendor’s free plan includes commercial rights. ElevenLabs lists a commercial license starting on Starter, and Speechify’s Free Studio plan says “No commercial usage rights.”
Speechify’s Studio FAQ separately says that with Studio “you own the audio output and commercial rights in perpetuity,” so read the plan card and the terms together before publishing audio from a free plan. The free plans are for trying the voices: ElevenLabs gives 10k credits a month, and Speechify Studio gives 600 credits.
How do credits work on ElevenLabs and Speechify Studio?
Both meter output in credits. Speechify Studio publishes its rates: voiceover costs 1 credit per second, dubbing 3, and avatars 30. ElevenLabs sets credits per plan and offers a calculator that converts minutes of audio into the plan you need.
- Speechify Studio: 86,400 credits on Starter equals 24 hours of voiceover at 1 credit per second (86,400 seconds). The 600 free credits equal 10 minutes. Re-exporting unchanged speech costs nothing; a new generation does.
- ElevenLabs: credits renew monthly on every plan: 10k on Free, 30k on Starter, 121k on Creator, 600k on Pro, 1.8M on Scale, and 6M on Business. Creator adds the option to buy additional credits.
