HighLevel review for agency owners
What the platform does well, where it costs you time or money, and who it fits. No star rating.

Quick answer
HighLevel suits agencies that want a CRM, funnels, email and SMS, and calendars for many clients under one subscription. Expect usage charges on top of the plan and real setup time. It is a poor fit if you need one tool for one business.

This review is based on HighLevel’s public pricing page and its help center, both checked on October 8, 2026. It is not a report from a test account, and it has no testimonials. Prices can change. If a number here disagrees with HighLevel’s live pages, use the live pages.
What HighLevel does well
One subscription covers a lot of tools
HighLevel’s pricing page lists a CRM and pipelines, a website and funnel builder, email and SMS marketing, calling, unified conversations, booking calendars, workflow automation, forms and surveys, social media management, reputation management, payments and invoicing, courses, communities, and a mobile app. For an agency that would otherwise pay for several separate tools per client, that is the main argument for it.
The price does not grow with contacts or users
The pricing FAQ says all three agency plans include unlimited contacts and unlimited users. The plan price changes with sub-accounts and features, not with list size or team size.
It is built around client accounts
Each client gets a sub-account. Unlimited and Pro have no sub-account cap. HighLevel’s feature permissions article says agencies can choose from more than 80 features to decide which tools each sub-account can see. That lets you show one client a CRM and calendar while another client gets more.
White-label options and rebilling
The FAQ says you can connect your own domains and white-label the desktop web app so clients see your branding. On Unlimited and Pro you can rebill phone and email usage to clients. On Pro you can add a markup. The FAQ also mentions a snapshot library of pre-built account setups for industries such as real estate, dentists, and gyms.
The drawbacks
Usage charges sit on top of the plan
The FAQ says the subscription covers platform features, and that phone numbers, SMS, emails sent, and premium AI usage are charged separately. HighLevel’s pricing guide lists email at $0.675 per 1,000 emails and says phone pricing matches Twilio’s. Usage is paid from a wallet that refills from your card when the balance gets low. Your monthly cost is the plan price plus whatever your clients use, unless you rebill it.
There is a lot to learn
The FAQ says you do not need to be tech-savvy, and points to support, snapshots, and a user community. HighLevel’s pricing guide also lists a $1,000 done-with-you Advanced Account Setup, a certificate program at $97/month or $970/year, and Premium Support at $500/month. The size of that product list is a fair signal: plan time to set up your first client accounts properly.
Some things cost extra
- White-label mobile app: $497/month. The desktop app white-label is included. The mobile app is not, except on Enterprise.
- HIPAA: HighLevel’s pricing guide says accounts are not HIPAA compliant by default. The upgrade is $297/month and cannot be turned off once enabled.
- AI Employee: $50/month (Growth) or $97/month (Unlimited) for each enabled sub-account, or pay-per-use.
- Several add-ons are priced per sub-account, such as SEO at $79/month and the branded client portal app at $49/month, so they add up as you add clients.
Plan limits shape what you can do
Starter is capped at 3 sub-accounts, and rebilling is listed only on Unlimited and Pro. Markup rebilling is Pro only. On Unlimited, HighLevel’s email rebilling article says email rebilling only works with LeadConnector email at a fixed 1.05x, and the sub-account needs a payment method on file.
Billing changes take some steps
HighLevel’s billing help article says moving an existing yearly plan back to monthly cannot be done inside the platform. You have to contact support. Canceling takes nine steps, including at least 30 words of feedback. After you cancel, phone numbers stay billed for 14 days before they are deleted, and account data is deleted after 90 days unless you reactivate. The free trial page lists the cancel steps.
Who should buy it
- Agencies that manage several clients and want a CRM, funnels, email and SMS, and calendars together, with each client in its own sub-account.
- Agencies that want to pass phone and email costs to clients (Unlimited or Pro).
- Agencies that want to sell access to the software under their own brand (Pro, SaaS mode). That is a feature, not a promise that anyone will buy.
Who should not buy it
- You only need an email marketing tool. Compare it first: HighLevel vs ActiveCampaign.
- You mainly need a funnel builder. Read HighLevel vs ClickFunnels, and there is also HighLevel vs Kartra.
- You are weighing a broader marketing suite or a small-business CRM. See HighLevel vs HubSpot and HighLevel vs Keap.
- You need HIPAA compliance and the $297/month add-on does not fit your budget.
- You will not set aside time to configure accounts, or pay someone to do it.
Pricing
Prices on HighLevel’s pricing page on October 8, 2026. Each of the three plans has a 14-day trial. Enterprise is a custom plan with no public fixed price.
| Plan | Price on the pricing page | Sub-accounts and key extras |
|---|---|---|
| Agency Starter | $97/month, or $970/year | 3 sub-accounts. Unlimited contacts and unlimited users. 24/7 support is listed. |
| Agency Unlimited | $297/month, or $2,970/year | Everything in Starter, plus unlimited sub-accounts, rebilling for phone and email with no markup, and basic API access. |
| Agency Pro | $497/month, or $4,970/year | Everything in Unlimited, plus SaaS mode, automated sub-account creation, rebilling for phone and email with a markup, user and agent reporting, and advanced API access. |
Recommendation
HighLevel makes sense when you want one agency platform for many clients and you are prepared for usage charges and setup time. It makes less sense if you need one tool for one job. Pick the plan by sub-accounts: Starter for up to three, Unlimited past three, and Pro only for SaaS mode. Read HighLevel pricing for agencies and HighLevel sub-accounts explained before you choose, and HighLevel for agencies for how client accounts are set up.
