What is Synthesia?
Synthesia makes videos with AI avatars that read your script, without cameras or microphones, and dubs videos into other languages with lip-sync. Paid plans add MP4 downloads, no watermark, more stock avatars, personal avatars and credits on top of the free allowance; Synthesia says a typical finished minute of video uses about 100 credits. Enterprise adds unlimited video minutes, SAML/SSO, brand kits and SCORM export. Synthesia publishes API docs and integrations with tools such as HubSpot, PowerPoint, TalentLMS, Vimeo and YouTube.

How do you use Synthesia to make a training video from a script?
Here is a practical setup in 5 steps. It follows the features Synthesia lists; it is not a hands-on test.
- Create a free Basic account at synthesia.io.
- Paste your script, or import a PowerPoint deck, then pick a stock avatar and a voice.
- Generate the video. Synthesia says credits are used only when something is generated, not while you edit or preview.
- Watch the result and check pronunciation and facts, then share it with a link.
- To download MP4 files without the Synthesia watermark, move to Starter or higher.

Do unused Synthesia minutes roll over?
No. Synthesia’s pricing FAQ says the monthly allowance and your plan’s extra credits reset each billing period. On annual plans the year’s credits are available upfront, and credits bought separately are valid for 12 months.
Does Synthesia use customer videos to train its AI?
Synthesia’s AI governance page says it does not use customer data, including inputs or outputs, to pre-train its AI components. Any fine-tuning on customer data follows the customer’s written instructions.
Does Synthesia have an API?
