How do you get started with each tool?

OpusClip

  1. Paste a link (YouTube, Zoom, Google Drive, Vimeo and more; it must be public or unlisted) or upload the video file.
  2. Set Clip Length before you submit. The default is Auto (0m to 3m); a prompt cannot control length.
  3. If your plan includes prompt-to-clip (the pricing page lists it on Pro), add a clear prompt in English, such as “Find the moments with strong opinions or surprising advice”. Say what you want, not what you do not want.
  4. Pick a caption Brand Template (font, color, position, logo). Set it up once, save it and apply it when you upload.
  5. Open a clip to fix captions, trim by selecting text and pressing Delete, or use Add a Section to try a stronger hook. Then download it or post it (direct posting needs a paid plan).

Descript

  1. Create a free Descript account; no credit card is needed.
  2. Import your video or record in Descript, and let it transcribe the media.
  3. Edit the script like a document; Descript edits the video to match.
  4. Ask Underlord to remove filler words or add captions (limited on the free plan).
  5. Export the video. Free exports are 720p; paid plans export up to 4K.

Otter.ai

  1. Sign up for a free Otter account at otter.ai (Otter recommends a work email so you can use Workspace features), then click the validation link Otter emails you: you need to verify your email before you can use any feature.
  2. Click Apps (Integrations) in the left navigation and, under Connect calendars & contacts, click Add next to Google or Microsoft. Sign in, review the permissions and click Continue (Google) or Accept (Microsoft). Otter syncs only each account's primary calendar.
  3. Open the Notetaker settings (Account Settings → Meetings, or the gear icon on the homepage calendar). Next to Default auto-join settings, pick “Meetings with a video link”, or narrow it to “Meetings where I am the host”, “External meetings outside your domain”, “Internal meetings within your domain” or “Meetings I manually select”. Change it at least 30 minutes before a meeting.
  4. On the same Meetings page, set Auto-share: “All event guests”, “Same domain guests” (business domains only), “Workspace members” or “Don’t Share” to keep notes private, and choose Viewer or Collaborator as the default permission.
  5. For a meeting that is not on your calendar, copy its Zoom, Google Meet or Teams URL (with the password embedded), paste it into the “Paste meeting URL to add Otter” field on the Otter homepage and press Enter or click Record. The host may need to admit Otter Notetaker from the waiting room; afterwards, open the conversation for the transcript and summary.
